2008...thank God it is finally here!
2007 was a rough year -lots of medical crap and lots of soul searching.
Is the grass greener somewhere else? My closest friends live no where near me anymore-I am afraid to move on or is this the best place for me right now?
Deep down, I know that while I love to visit my friends in their far-off homes, for now Homer is doing right by me.
I do know that I need to do something however.
Changing jobs doesn't make sense-I just got a raise and let's face it, it's not rocket science.
My marriage is great...no complaints there.
Money is what money always is...a pain in the ass.
So the change must be with me.
I decided at the beginning of the year that I would revamp the old version of Weas and create a sleeker, more confident, more user-friendly version: Weas 2.o
I have been really monitering what I put into my body (okay, usually-I did binge in Philly, but how often do you get to spend real quality time with your closest friend?).
The next step-get off the sofa and get moving. Granted, my tech directing gig gets me on my feet, but it doesn't make my butt any smaller.
So, yesterday I made a committment. I have decided to begin training for the Adirondack Mountain Distance Festival Marathon. I plan on walking the 26.2 miles with my friend Suzi. We have researched the event, which is walker-friendly and have signed up for Prevention.com's walking trainer.
Today is our first training day. I pulled my sleepy self out of bed this morning at 5:50am and accompanied my intrepid spouse, set out for my first session. It was realitively easy-a 1/2 hour walk at a moderate pace.
But every journey begins, with a single step.
Hopefully, this process will help me to re-build myself--my self-esteem and self-worth could certainly use a booster shot. But I also hope that reminds me not to take anything for granted and that everything worth having needs work: my marriage, my friendships, and myself.

Yes...intrepid is one word....COLD is another that springs to mind ;)
Yay! Welcome to the addictive world of the blog!
And CONGRATS on the marathon... what an awesome goal.
Although I liked the beta version very much, I think Weas 2.0 is going to kick ass...
